Representatives of ALANUR participated in the Fifth Business Meeting of the 13th Pacific Alliance Summit in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, on July 22nd and 23th, 2018.
Throughout the development of this forum, there were discussions on the latest developments in the Pacific Alliance as well as new commitments for the year 2030 taking into account the challenges and opportunities in the current global economic context. In line with such discussions, there was a first engagement with MERCOSUR in order to generate a greater interaction between both commercial blocs.
During the meeting, which concluded with speeches from President Enrique Peña Nieto of Mexico, Sebastián Piñera of Chile, Juan Manuel Santos of Colombia and Martín Vizcarra of Peru, there was a demand to increase the dynamism inside the Alliance and set up new goals in order to facilitate trade between members and further integrate their markets.
